christ gospel fellowship

CGF is a community centered around who Christ is. We’re curious about God’s Word, and intentional about letting what we learn transform our minds. In gathering around His Table, we desire to live out His Word and be a blessing to the world.

  • CGF started out as a single bible study session hosted by Pastor Tan Ye Peng back in 2019.

Word spread organically, and Pastor Tan began hosting more frequent sessions for those who expressed their interest.

As our community began to grow, the question of formally registering ourselves as a church began to surface. In December 2020, CGF held its first church service and we’ve been learning about God’s Word together ever since.

  • Vision: To be a Christ-centred community transformed by God’s Word, and a blessing to the world.

Mission: We gather as a Christian community to cultivate a deep relationship with God, live out His Word, and meet the needs of others.

  • While there’s no one way to study the Bible, we encourage exegetical reading at CGF.

This approach prompts us to consider the author’s audience and original intent, thereby creating a complex and layered experience that allows us to understand and appreciate the Scripture as it was written.

As we pray for the joy of knowing God’s Word to satisfy us greatly, we’ll also learn how to apply what we’ve learnt in our daily lives.

what it means for the church we aspire to be

Meeting
at the table

We appreciate “doing life” together as an intentional act.

Come rain or shine, we want to be able to eat, cry, grow, laugh, learn and share life together. So we make the conscious effort to celebrate every individual’s strength and flaw, knowing that meeting at the table in spite of our differences will bless us all.

making room
around the table

Because the Lord has invited us to His table, we can now share this fellowship with others. We want to make room for those who may behave, believe or think differently from us. Whether they are differently-abled or differently-gifted, we aim to accept and celebrate them for who they are.

bringing ourselves
to the table

Whether it’s five loaves or two pennies, we aspire to bring our different qualities to the table and share them with the whole community. There are no “consumers” here; we all pitch in and make this our home.

SHARING
from the table

We want to bring about God’s kingdom and be a church that is a blessing to the world. By becoming bread for others, we purposefully meet the needs of those on the margins with compassion, justice and love.
